I just wanted to drop a quick email to thank you very much for your help. I spoke to you on TalkSport in the early hours of Sun 27th Jan regarding my plans to become bankrupt. You strongly advised me against this due to my age and earning potential etc; which I now fully understand.

To get to the point, in about 10 mins you explained to me something that for 6 months I haven't been told by anyone; eg, CAB, IVA companies, websites (although I hadn't heard of yours sadly) and forums etc. I have taken everything on board and just wanted to thank you so much for your time and frank advice. It has all been duly noted and I have already begun to fully investigate the process and outcome of IVA's.

I will not be going bankrupt and after speaking to you, I have a strong feeling that this will be something that I'm so lucky and thankful to have discovered literally 1 week before it was too late!

Hi Mike. Just a few lines to thank you for all your help over the years and in particular the last few weeks. Following your advice my son filed for bankruptcy and could not believe how simple it was. The staff including the judge were very understanding and sympathetic and the hearing was formal but without being intimidating. Had he realised how easy it was he would have done it months ago as he had no assets of any value and was living in rented property. He was able to keep the few possessions that he had. He now feels so much better and I am sure he will regain his health and be able to take up full time employment again soon. Once again many thanks for your understanding and guidance.

I would like to thank the DW for all his help.

I have settled my bank charges claim for £775, and without Mike and the DW site it wouldn't have been possible.

I am one of those people who backs down when the 1st nasty letter arrives, but with guidance from the DW, I got my money back!! If I can do it so can you!!

I just wanted to say thank you. Thanks to the tools and advice on your site I have just had a refund from Halifax in the sum of £971. I would urge anyone who has had a rejection letter from their bank to keep going. It wasn't until after my second letter that I actually got anywhere.

Hey Mike,

You'll probably remember me from about 6 weeks ago, I spoke to you regarding charges at NatWest and what I should do, well I wrote them the letter with all the charges saying I want them back. They sent me a quick reply saying they would look into it. 6 weeks down the line and thinking not much was happening I received a letter (22nd June) saying they didn’t agree with the whole £2,350 but were willing to give me £2,050 direct debit if I agreed and replied to there letter within 8 weeks. Also that they were sorry and wanted to help me in the future, blah blah blah. I filled it out sent it back and within 3 days, (28th June) I have £2,050 sitting there, wow, it does work and I only sent 2 letters.

Well I’d just like to say a big thank you and I will forward you the letters they sent in hope someone else can gain advice, I will also post a message on the website, thanks a lot mike I really appreciate the help from you and your website.

I just want to say a big thank you for your help in recovering my bank charges, I sent my first letter on Apr 11th and received the final letter of settlement yesterday 15th June so all in all 2 months from start to finish, I received £1100 + £120 fee...£1220 from the Lloyds TSB. :) It has made such a difference to my financial situation. Can't thank you enough and I recommended you to Chessy on Talksport. Keep up the good work.

I just wanted to let you know that following your recent advice my partner has now been offered a settlement figure from the NatWest. He did get a reply from letter two on your website where the bank stipulated his claim would be investigated and contact would be made in due course. Almost a month had passed and he still hadn’t heard a thing so I gave you a quick call, you advised to send another letter via recorded delivery requesting a refund of all the charges and that they had seven working days in which to do so.

Oh my goodness did this work a treat as he got a reply within two days of postage………………the original claim was for £8,682.69 and my partner has been offered a refund of £6,879.00 which he is going to accept as it is more than we both thought it would be. The difference between the two figures is £1,803.69 which he feels is a truer reflection of the charges that should have been applied to his account over the last six years and due to this he doesn’t wish to pursue the matter any further.

All I can say is thank you very much for all your help and advice on the achievement of this. It is down to you alone that my partner was even aware that he could challenge the charges that had been made by his bank as he religiously listens to TalkSport. If you wish to use this as a case study my partner would be happy to for you to use him as an example.

As a mortgage advisor I used to be spending a lot of my time negotiating with banks to accept sub-prime / bad credit remortgages and secured loans to settle their debts. Now I refer them to Mike's website, they come back later far happier and with a much reduced debt burden.

As a working single mum, I simply couldn’t afford the £39,000 of debt I’d amassed. I was talking to a Debt Management Company, but it'd mean repaying the debt over 11 years! I ended up repaying less than half of the debt in just 5 years – under £300 a month.
