Over payment of income support from 1995, credit card debt, charging orders, mental health and debt, bailiffs council tax, debt partial settlement, remortgaging after mortgage arrears, commercial property repossession, free debt advice agencies, not for profit debt advice, National Debt Line, StepChange, Citizens Advice Bureau, Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), full and final offer to end IVA, Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) in an IVA, can you go to prison for non payment of debts, where to get a basic bank account.
Mike opens the show explaining the role of a debt adviser and gives examples of what debt options are available to consumers. Mike then gives an example of how long it takes to clear the average credit card debt of £2,354, the number of years will scare you. Clive then asks Mike the main reasons people get into debt and whether the Brexit will have any impact on consumers already in debt options.

13.50 Call 2 Amin wanted to know what he could do with his credit card debts and was not sure if a charge had been put on his house.
19.15 Call 3 Tom in Chelsea said he received a letter from bailiffs to say they are coming to his home soon to take goods over a disputed council tax bill.
23.10 Call 4 Diane in Edmonton has been paying her credit card debt for the past six years and has now been offered a 50% partial settlement.
28.14 Call 5 Linda in Middlesex said she has recent mortgage arrears and wanted to know if this would affect her chances of a remortgage.
31.14 Call 6 Ranjid in Wembley had a business property repossessed and wanted to know his options.
34.20 Call 7 Shirley from Islington was looking for information after entering into an IVA in 2008 and has now been asked by the IVA firm to make an offer to conclude it. Shirley also had a question about who should get the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) payment of £4,500, her or the creditors in her IVA.
38.40 Emma in Fulham said she has always been in debt and wanted to know if she could go to prison for failure to pay her debts. Emma also wanted to know where she could get a bank account as she keeps getting refused one.
