Hello The Coach and welcome back to the DebtWizard IVA and debt help forum.

Just need a bit more information and then I will see what I can do to help you.

Q. Can you remind me of the date your IVA started please?

Q. Also where have you tried to open a bank account with?

Q. Finally, who do you currently bank with and is it a 'basic' bank account?

Best wishes,

Mike

Hello TheCoach

If you haven't already done so I would look at your credit report, you can do this for free with Noddle or ClearScore Read through it and make sure it is correct, ie no outstanding debts still on there which were included in your IVA.

Your IVA should NOT be on any report as it commenced over six years ago.

Re your bank account, are you looking for a basic one (no cheque book or overdraft facility, but can use card in shops and online)? If so then have a look at this list Free Basic bank Accounts

If you are looking for a current account with credit facilities then the account provider will conduct a credit search on you, this is why you need to ensure your credit file is correct and up to date.

Trust this helps.

Best wishes
Mike

Hello TheCoach

What about the other bits on your credit file I mentioned in my earlier post?

Is there anything on your file that should not be there?

What type of bank account are you looking for, basic or current and did you see the link for the list of the basic bank accounts?

Best wishes,
Mike

Hello TheCoach

I understand your predicament but before I can help you I need to know what is going on.

If you want my help then please answer the questions I have posted, the answers will help me get to the route of the problem.

For ease of reference I have posted them again for you.

Q Having read through ALL of your credit report, is there anything on your file that should not be there? Such as still showing the IVA, debts from the IVA? Is there any inaccurate information that needs correcting?

If yes then please detail, if no then say 'file is correct.'

Q Did you see the link for the list of the basic bank accounts I posted earlier on this thread, they will do the same as a current account but instead not offer credit such as overdraft.

Q. Can you remind me of the date your IVA STARTED, I know it finished Dec 16, must have start date, it's important.

Best wishes,
Mike
