Hi Mike, hope you are well.

I haven't posted for a while, just popped in and out. Just wondering how Gallifrey is. I know he was diagnosed around the same time I was?

Now in to my fifth year of Iva. Been a struggle but feels good to be this far in

Hello dippydora and a very warm welcome back to the DebtWizard forum. :)

Great to read you are doing well, to save me from trawling though your old posts, what was the deal in your IVA? ie how much a month and what was the total amount of debt you put in?

I ask as this will help others looking at your post who may not be familiar with your IVA.

Still can't get my head around that you are on your fifth year in the IVA, where has the time gone :o

Gallifray often pops up on the forum so I expect he will come back to you soon, trust you are now okay and all clear?

Forgot to add that your name 'dippydora' is in my top three names for the forum, just love it and makes me smile every time I see it!

My very best wishes,

Mike

Hi Mike
Good to see you are still here helping people. Hope you are well.
Yes in fifth year, unbelievable isn't it? Won't say it's been easy but haven't missed a payment. Been paying £200 a month, debt was just short of £60k. Payplan managed to find a Ppi I didn't even know I had so that went in to the pot as well
Health wise doing ok. Lymphoma spread to lungs but thankfully chemo worked. On maintenance chemo now for a couple of years. Never rains but it pours hey?
Good to see Gallifrey is doing well and out of debt. I'll keep popping in to catch up with him
Thanks again for all your advice

Hello dippydora

That IVA looks like it has worked out well for you, and now you are on the home run.

If you get additional costs re your chemo treatment and hospital visits, try Macmillan Nurses/fund and if you receive none or very little help then mention any extras expenditure to your IVA supervisor. It is not uncommon for creditors to agree to end an IVA early and mark it as satisfied, due to extenuating circumstances.

Give it some thought ;)

I sent Gallifrey a pm re your post so expect him to pop on the forum this week.

Best wishes,

Mike

Hello I'm all good currently still in remission now on yearly checks for another three years and then fingers crossed will get the all clear. Really pleased the chemo worked for you too although sorry to hear it had spread to your lungs. I bet you can't wait to be clear of your IVA. Hopefully catch up with you on here soon

Dave

Hi Gallifrey
Great to hear you are all clear. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the advice Mike. I did speak to my supervisor a while ago who has said contact them if I am struggling. May have to do that for the sixth year. Just have to see how it goes
Take care both of you

Hello dippydora

You don't strike me as a girl that give up.

It might be an idea to have a chat with your IVA supervisor just to how the land lies and if they are receptive to your circumstances.

Happy to post more help re this if you wish. ;)

Best wishes,

Mike
